Homework for the Weekend - All Classes - 2/20 and 2/21

Apologies all for not getting this posted last night.  Here are your reminders to prepare for the last week of February.

AP English III

At this point you should be working on the development of your argument and topic for your research papers.  Once you have discovered what you are trying to prove, make sure to see me to check it for thoroughness.  Remember, as I've said in class, a few minutes spent with me now can save you a lot of time down the road.  You should also be completing your research as we will not be spending any class time in the library.

In Invisible Man you need to be working toward the next reading goal.  This portion of the text is relatively short, so do try to get through more than is required of you.

Lastly, don't forget that on Tuesday the 25th, all Juniors will report to their ACT testing rooms for Pre-Administration during 2nd period.

Russian I

Over the weekend you have several dialogues to read in Russian to review and study the use of conjunctions in Russian.  Something that I would suggest is that you mark any words which are difficult for you to say so that you can ask about them.  When you have read all of the dialogues, complete the three exercises at the end.

First, complete your analysis of the use of conjunctions in the dialogues.  Focus especially on the conjunction A and understand why it is being used.

Second, complete the fill in the blanks activity and then, attempt the translation.  We will review all of these on Monday/Tuesday to begin our wrap up of grammar in this unit.

Lastly, remember that progress reports are going out on Wednesday/Thursday:  Any missing quizzes or assignments must be done by that point.  Please ask if you need to.

Honors English II

With the AP Pre Test today I did not get to check your notes on section eight of Oedipus the King, make sure that you have completed these notes and that they are thorough before we meet again on Tuesday.  Also for Tuesday you will need to complete your vocabulary cards from our new set of words.  Remember the following for your cards:

Front of Card:  word, part of speech, word origin with explanation, sentence with word from play, citation of quote.

Back of Card:  two synonyms, explanation of difference between synonym and word.  one antonym

ESL English III

You should begin to plan for the next part of our assignment which is turning your story into a graphic novel.  Consider your drawings and how you will use light and dark colors to show emotion in your comic strip.
