Homework for the Weekend - 30 November - A Day

AP English III

During today's class we were really focused on understanding how Chapter 5 and the arrival of Beloved act as a break or a caesura in the text. This is a clear moment that affects the characters now, and it will continue to affect them as we move forward in the text. As we investigated the changes in the characters, I want you to follow this as you keep reading by looking at the changes in the symbols in the text as well.

Over the weekend, read and annotate Chapters 6-8. As you're reading, look for symbols that we have noticed before, but also consider the way that these symbols are shifting or developing in their meaning. You're also going to want to keep an eye out for irony in the text too. As we discovered, irony really is the key device Morrison will be using through her text to communicate big understandings to us.

Remember that for Thursday we'll have the end of James Baldwin's piece as well. There will be an in-class writing/synthesis assignment on this day where you'll draw on many of our different authors to understand how many of them are developing a meaning around a particular idea.

English IV

We're spending our time working our way through Act III. Today we saw the beginnings of the end as Torvald and Nora begin to argue heatedly. For the weekend I think that it's a good idea to work on your projects if you can. We'll have a workshop in class on Tuesday, but I would suggest finishing your paragraph or other project so that we can move on to finishing the play.

Homework for B-Day Students - Weekend Edition - 29 November

AP Seminar

We are now deeply in the woods of the IWA process. It's time to put it all together and prove your case. Remember as you are working through your sources and topics it is important to always:

  • check for alignment between the introduction and essay
  • review the rubric to ensure that you are accomplishing the goals
  • check-in with your peer reviewers
  • ask for help
On Monday we'll be back to the salt mines of drafting before we begin our Oral Defenses on Wednesday. Remember that your full IWA is due on Wednesday and it will be assessed with the rubric that you were given today.

Advanced Russian

As I said today in class everyone, we have six months left together. Your choices will determine what those months will look like. Recognize that I am here to help - but my help can really only be useful if you're putting in what you need to. With that in mind, let's look at homework for the weekend.

First, now we have our rubrics for the final visual/presentation. Be sure that you paper is shared with your full team. Then, begin to consolidate your visual (Russian II) or focus on your scripted presentation (Russian III). For the scripted presentation you should have an element of your paper to present to the judges. You should develop a list of about ten words that we will focus on next week for phonetics work. Be ready with this on Monday.

Additionally, you should finish your planning for your month/days writing assignment. Your visuals should be finished by Monday. Then we will be able to focus on finding vocabulary and writing.

Lastly, I'll have quizzes ready to return to you on Monday. You will then have the week to perform your reassessment. Study and review over the weekend to prepare, if you need to.

Russian I

In looking at PowerSchool I see that there are a few of you who are missing assignments or who need to go back and resubmit assignments to show your growth on skills. Remember that you will need to do this by December 11. Any assignments which aren't done by that point will be locked since that is the date of our unit examination.

I have given you in class several exercises which can be used to prepare for the unit exam. You'll need to be able to work with the alphabet, identify gender, talk about ownership, and conjugate a variety of verbs. Work with the exercises given today, or the ones in your textbook, in order to practice. I'm available all next week for you to get more practice or review with me.

Lastly, we have a small writing assignment going on right now. You'll be making small paragraphs using verbs about three people and yourself. Make sure that you've gone through and collected your verbs for this assignment. Next class we'll have time with computers in order to complete our work.

Homework for A-Day Students

AP English III

Solid discussion today around the ideas of structural/systemic racism and the elements of Maya Angelou's "Graduation" which helped us to come to our conclusions. As I've always said, the way to get into a text is through the tone. By investigating tone, its development, and its changes, we can really see what authors think and why they think it. Here are your reminders for Friday's class.

You have vocabulary cards due to me on Friday - numbers sixteen through twenty. Make sure that you are using a variety of resources to complete these cards. There is also reading in Beloved - Chapters 3, 4, and 5. As you're reading, connect to the motifs that we've pulled out. Understand what is happening and why it's important to the narrative. How does it contribute to the message Morrison is crafting.

Lastly, we will have our final discussion on Baldwin on Thursday. I've posted the whole article to Google Classroom; be sure that you've completed the final section.

Oh, and the answers for the multiple choice are: C, B, B, B, B, A, B, E, A.

English IV

Today in class a few of you were able to finish your first project and everyone else is very close. On Friday we'll have the goal of finishing projects one and two so that I can start grading for the weekend. Additionally, we read a section of A Doll's House - Act III. Next class we'll be moving closer to the conclusion in order to see how Nora and Torvald resolve their problems.

Make sure that you're focused on your projects and test corrections at this point. If you need help with anything, come during lunch for extra assistance.

Homework for B-Day Students: 27 November 2018

AP Seminar

And now it is that we begin our drafting process and move from planning and researching to writing and drafting. As we begin it's important that you continue to use your preliminary documents in a way that makes sense. Consider the different elements of the QUEST framework and how you're using all of these skills as you are working through your IWA.

On Thursday and Monday we'll be doing nothing but drafting. I think that looking at the rubric, the earlier sample papers, and the feedback that you've received will be very helpful here.

Also remember what I said in class - when we do the actual process you'll have a lot more time. This was a quick move through the process in order to familiarize ourselves with the process.

Advanced Russian

We are also in the drafting phase of our research papers or research posters - whichever level we find ourselves to be in. As you are going through the research paper, remember that I need a final copy with all elements pulled together by tomorrow - WEDNESDAY - at 4:00 PM. I need the final copy shared with me so that I can send it in.

For next class we will have our vocabulary quiz on time expressions. Remember that you need to know your various prepositions and vocabulary related to time like days of the week, months, adverbs related to time expressions (suddenly, long time, always, all the time).

We also did a bit of exercise work today in class. Be sure that you've completed these exercises both as a practice for the quiz as well as review of concepts.

Russian I

Keep in mind that the only way to improve in Russian is the practice and review. If you don't know how to do a practice or you don't know how to do a review, then we should talk. The sooner that you address the issue, the sooner it gets better. Remember that avoidance isn't actually doing anything.

Today in class we reviewed verb conjugation by looking at reflexive verbs as well as transitive verbs. We also looked at verbs which have a mutation like жить and писать. We did some conjugation practice which you can find in Google Classroom.

For next class you have two exercises for practice. First, read the text and find the verbs. Underline the verbs and circle the subjects. On the back, read the information after the verb and find the most logical verb to go in the blank. Then, conjugate. Remember that you have to complete six of the twelve conjugations.

Homework for A-Day - 26 November

What a good first day back! I'm a bit tired, but I think I'll rally. Here are the things to accomplish before next class.

AP English III

Today we had a very thorough conversation related to Sethe, slavery, and some of Morrison's other key ideas in the opening of Beloved. You all were very engaged in the work which was lovely to see. For tonight, we have a parallel author to read and consider. On Google Classroom you'll find Angelou's "Graduation" which is all about her...graduation. There are a lot of big parallels to Beloved that we can also draw. Pay close attention to her tone and especially how it changes in the text.

For Friday we'll have Chapters 3-5 of Beloved as well as the next set of vocabulary cards (16-20). Remember to review the previous slides about what to do if you've been losing points on vocabulary cards.

English IV

Today in class we focused on our first project. Some of you were able to get this done and everyone else got some great decisions made related to the project. We'll have more time on Wednesday and Friday to keep working on these projects. For tonight, I would say to finish choosing which projects you'll do for this adaptation of A Doll's House. From there, you may want to take a look at your Act I test corrections. It's important to make any corrections now, so that you're in a good place before we finish our unit!

Homework for Thanksgiving Break - B Day

AP Seminar

Remember ladies and gentlemen that you can revise your planning documents in order to improve your scores. It's important to recognize that scores are reflective of the strength of documents and work. Since this work is still in progress, you can continue to work and revise.

There are two paths that this can take - you can make changes to the IWA Planning OR you can apply these changes to the outline as you are developing that document. The IWA Outline should be a separate document. You should be copying and pasting from your Planning in order to develop your outline. Remember the work that we did today in class around building an outline. I should see a few complete sentences (argument/topic sentences) followed by bullet points listing out source material and commentary that relates the sources together and to your overall discussion.

On the Tuesday we return we'll be workshopping outlines in small groups. Have your outline in a place where you can share it with your classmates and with me.

Keep working and researching! Start writing!

Advanced Russian

Over Thanksgiving Break we are working on reviewing our skills on telling time through exercises as well as developing the drafts of our essays and collecting visuals for our graphic representation that aligns with the research. Let's go through this quickly.

Russian III Students - You have divided your essay into topics for which you have research. Now you should divide the work amongst yourselves so that you can work through the topics. Use your research. Explain what you see in these sources. Cite your information clearly. Use the language that you know and ask for my help. Share a document with me. I'll be checking in on your essay on Friday and on Sunday.

Russian II Students - Now that you have your topics, what images would go along with these topics? How will you comment on them to clearly show their connection. Find a place to collect these graphics and start to work on your commentary.

Remember everyone that you should always use the language the you know. There's no shame in being simple and there's no shame in repeating the same types of sentences. That will lead to a better product than just relying on other resources.

To focus on our new skills we have some exercises. Choose either the even or odd questions and complete - 5.15 (Russian II) or 8.11, 8.12, and 8.13 (Russian III). Be sure that you're reviewing your rules and vocabulary related to time as you do this work.

This will help you to prepare for your quiz on time language. You should review the first quiz we took and as well be able to navigate different types of time expressions including days, weeks, months, hours, minutes, prepositions, et cetera. This is also a good chance to show you know your numbers!

Russian I

Today in class we reviewed our verb conjugation process through a warm-up before going on to watching Doctor Zhivago. We were able to finish Part One and then moved on to Part Two. It would be a good idea to take a look through your viewing guide as you will have a question related to the film on your quiz next week.

Next week the majority of your quiz will be focused on verb conjugation. Be sure that you can go through the process - identify the type, expose the root, pick the proper ending, put the ending on the root. We've practiced this many times, so you should be able to do it with the verbs you see in Chapter One. Focus on the regular verbs that we have seen so far in our class work. If you need additional help, working through Duolingo as well as seeing the slides on Google Classroom are very helpful.

Homework for Thanksgiving Break - A Day

AP English III

Today we worked through the first section of James Baldwin's "Notes of a Native Son" so that we could understand one of Baldwin's arguments that racism and prejudice are an inherited disease that affects all types of Americans differently. We also began to see that there is a cure to this disease - through love and understanding.

After this, we set up our annotations for Beloved and began reading Chapter One. Over break, you should continue reading. Read to the end of Chapter Two. There are no chapter identifiers in the book, but you'll see where each chapter begins and ends because of the formatting. I've gone ahead and numbered all of these as chapters to make it easier on myself.

As you read, continue your annotations and continue to develop your back cover as Morrison shows you what this book is about. Build connections to the other authors and texts that we have seen so far, that will be helpful in understanding what is happening in Beloved. If you have time, continue reading through to the end of Chapter 5 - we'll be working through those later next week. I think that taking a look at Toni Morrison's Nobel Prize Speech can be helpful. Read through this with an eye toward her perspective/task as an author. You don't have to print it and annotate it; just make a few notes as you are reading.

Remember that you have vocabulary cards due for me on Friday when we return. There's also now a consistent threat of a reading quiz/check since we're working through a major text.

English IV

Over the Thanksgiving Break you should all be focused on your projects. Today you set your time and place for your adaptation of A Doll's House. Now it is time to select your three projects and to start working on those. Remember that when we come back from break you'll have time in class to work on this project and we'll spend some time in the computer lab to start putting this work together. Right now, be able to make your choices (actors, songs, etc) and be able to explain why you've made the choices that you've made.

Homework for the Weekend - B Day - 16 November

AP Seminar

Today in class we worked hard to finish our IWA Planning Document. I'll be assessing these over the weekend. Make sure that it is shared to me (daniel _ miller @ dpsnc (dot) net) or turned in on Google Classroom. If you didn't finish in class, you have the rest of the day to complete your work. Be sure it's ready for me tomorrow morning.

After this, it was on to the IWA. On Google Classroom you'll find the slides from our analysis of the rubric as well as the sample IWAs and scoring commentary. I think that it's important for you to take a look at these documents as we begin moving into the drafting phase.

For the weekend, be sure that you are keeping your final task in mind. Keep researching, keep finding sources, but start writing too. Now that you've seen some samples, you should have an idea of what you need to submit.

Advanced Russian

The main task this weekend is working on the essay and visual. We'll also take a quick look at vocabulary related to time expressions on Tuesday as well - be sure that you're studying your new words related to your new grammar. You should know days of the week, words related to time, months, and prepositions. It'll be connected to what you're learning, so be ready.

Russian III students should focus on writing this weekend. We have the structures for the argument and the topic sentences. Keep moving if you can. Structure your essay, build your title page, abstract page (already done) and then section off your paper. Don't forget to include your references.

Russian II students should focus on those visuals this weekend. What's the visual? How does it connect to the paper? What's being shown? Use your language and reflect on aspect as you are writing. Put the visuals in the context of your group's essay topic.

All of this will come together for our big project grades this quarter. We'll be using the visual and the paper as a rehashing of our comic strip assignment.

Russian I

Today we focused our class completely on verb conjugation for regular first and second conjugation verbs before we moved on to a bit of Doctor Zhivago to end our class. At this point you should know several things in Russian including:

  • identifying part of speech in Russian
  • identifying gender for nouns
  • stating/talking about ownership in Russian
  • identifying verb conjugation pattern (first or second)
  • conjugating verbs based on pattern (first or second)
To finish our study of regular verb conjugation, we have the exercises I gave you today. These are for practice and will not be checked. If you would like to use them to review with me, that's a great idea. One of the exercises is available for extra credit on your quiz. Complete these, especially if you've been struggling to learn your conjugations. If you would like to come in next week to review, I am available for that.

Remember that on the 27th you will have a quiz on verb conjugation - you'll probably see some other questions on there too related to other skills. Review and study and ask for any help that you may need.

Homework for the Weekend - A Day - 15 November

AP English III

Today in class we had our timed writing/reassessment on rhetorical analysis. I think that this one was a relatively straight forward one to flex our muscles and show that we all understand how to complete an analysis. I'll have them scored and grades posted/updated by the end of the weekend.

After that, we worked through a quick discussion of a few of our poets as a way to reflect on our understanding of the ideas of double consciousness and the veil from Dubois's From the Souls of Black Folk. These concepts are highly important as we move into Beloved since we'll be seeing these ideas (as well as others) being used by Morrison to communicate her arguments about slavery and racism as it pertains to women.

For tonight, you have another fantastic author - James Baldwin - who will explore his own experiences with the veil and double consciousness through his piece "Notes of a Native Son." The article is in our Google Classroom page. You're reading only the first section. As you read and annotate consider where you see the veil, double consciousness, and family. Consider how family is part of Baldwin's overall argument related to racism/the veil/double consciousness. This is a very angry text - I hope that you'll be able to appreciate why Baldwin feels the way he does. Here's a clip from a documentary about James Baldwin called I Am Not Your Negro which gives a bit more insight into him.

Be sure to bring Beloved with you next class as we will begin our study of the novel.

English IV

Today in class we worked through a bit more of Act III, focused on vocabulary work, and then we began developing our projects in class. Hopefully you were able to finish our planning and make one of your project choices. Next class we'll be focusing in on this project more!

Additionally, some of you are missing a major assignment. It's important that this assignment is completed on Monday or Tuesday. Please come during lunch if you are missing the Act I Quiz.

We'll be done with A Doll's House in the next few classes. You should review your notes for our final test on the book and you should be working on the three elements of your project. Remember that your project and your test will have the same amount of points, so a good project score is a way to outweigh a bad test grade.

Homework for B-Day Students - 14 November

AP Seminar

Today was our last full day in the library for preliminary work and research related to our IWA. Next class you'll have half the period to finish your work. Then we'll come back to class to look at a sample IWA and discuss the writing goals that we will need to accomplish for this type of essay.

Tonight you should be working hard to complete your document. Remember that I am looking for your finalized research question, your argument on this question, and the sources that you are planning to use. With each source I should have a formal citation and a reflection as to how the source will be used - this could be like what you did for your annotated bibliography, or this could be more of an outline - be sure that there's a record.

Advanced Russian

Today in class we checked in on our exercises and we took some time to work on our aspectual situations tasks. Remember that these situations should be reflective of the work that you are following in your research reports. I want to make it that most everything we're doing in class is devoted to helping us on our essays and presentations.

For tonight, be sure that you have your argument and topic sentences in English for the essay. Next class we'll have a chance to start transforming these into Russian. From there, keep working on your comic - be writing, finding vocabulary, and developing your language related to your research topics.

Lastly, finish your exercises. I want us to have a final check of these exercises on Friday. Keep studying your vocabulary - there will be a reassessment on unit vocabulary soon!

Russian I

Over the last few classes we've been focusing on our verb conjugation patterns. Hopefully you've started to learn this process and the steps for how to do a proper conjugation. If you need more review, look over page 45 so that you can see the endings and a review of the process.

Tonight, you've got homework to review this process. It's all about conjugating verbs. Complete Exercise 3 - practice conjugating the verbs отвечать / спрашивать - remember these are first conjugation verbs. Then move on to Exercise 7 - practice conjugating a first and second conjugation verb.

Remember as I said today in class - this is information you have to memorize. Work hard to know your endings.

Homework for A-Day Students - 13 November

AP English III

I think that today's class led to some big breakthroughs about writing and completing projects. It's important not to wait until the last minute and to ask questions along the way. If the answer you get doesn't satisfy you, then you need to ask again until you understand what's expected. Additionally, it's important to consider the specific task that is being asked of you - if you don't accomplish the task, you'll get no points. I know that based on today's class that many of you will be able to accomplish a rhetorical analysis next class - showing improvement will result in a change of your scores on your website projects.

Outside of developing your skills with rhetorical analysis we have some poems. I want you to look at three or four of the poems that you have in your packet. All are from African American authors through different historical periods. Can you see similar ideas between Dubois and these authors? How? Where are they developing his idea related to the veil and double consciousness? Where do we see issues of racism and prejudice and the effects these have on people?

Next class we'll have our timed writing as well as a bit of a discussion related to the veil and double consciousness which will be helpful before reading James Baldwin.

English IV

Today we got through a lot of review of A Doll's House as well as the beginning of Act III. We also reviewed our vocabulary skills as well as some significant literary devices that we've encountered so far in the play. At the end of class we spent time reviewing our final project on the play. Next class we'll use the film to understand the interaction between Kristine and Nils as well as jump into the project more thoroughly. Be ready for our eventual test (Acts I-III) and for days to focus on our projects in class.

Friday, November 9, 2018

Homework for the Weekend - 9 November - B Day

AP Seminar

Today we began the serious work of developing our questions and arguments with source material. As you are researching, it's important to keep coming back to your question. How does the source help you to further refine the question? Is this a useful source? What other perspectives should you consider?

For your assignment due on Friday I am expecting a revised question, your argument/position on the question, and then your five additional sources. Remember that you also need to include your anchor source, so I suppose I'm really looking for six clear sources. This work will be due at the end of our library session on Friday. We'll have the whole class on Wednesday in the library to continue working.

Advanced Russian

This weekend we have exercises to focus on our new skills (Russian III) or old skills (Russian II). Russian III students should complete Exercise 8.8 and 8.9 in order to practice with dates, months, and years. Be aware of how much of the date you are using - this determines what grammar you'll need to use.

Russian II students should use Exercise 5.9 as a final practice with aspect. Look at the clues in the sentence in order to determine if you need a perfective or imperfective verb. This is a good way to develop your vocabulary knowledge as well as work on your own ability to conjugate verbs. Don't forget to also spend time on the verb list on pages 202-203 - this information is key since you have some new vocabulary and conjugation patterns to learn now.

Russian I

Today was a day focused on pulling together everything we've done before now in order to move on. Based on our work, I think that we're pretty solid with possessive and subject pronouns - this is great. Now we've got to focus on learning our verb conjugations. Over the weekend I would take a look at the notes from the last few classes related to verb conjugation. You've got to memorize these endings so that you know what goes with what. Be sure to also review how to make the changes that you need to make in order to take a verb through conjugation.

There are good videos online to help with this - search for Russian verb conjugation on YouTube.

Complete your pronoun sheet for your homework. Go through the document and say who has what. Then, when you're finished, pick three verbs and conjugate them. What will you do in Russia?

Homework for the Weekend - A Day

AP English III

We all got to the same place today, but 4A didn't have the opportunity to read the introduction aloud so that we had a handle on some of the bigger ideas that DuBois is presenting in his text. I've uploaded the slides from 1A where we had some of these discussions to help you make sense of the article.

Be sure that you look at the slides as you are reading to get an understanding of ideas like "double consciousness" as well as "the veil". These are going to be major ideas in African American literature that many authors will approach - it's important that we see them from their beginning with DuBois. Read and annotate this text in advance of our discussion on Tuesday.

Additionally, be ready to have your websites graded on Monday. Any changes should be made to the site before 5:00 so that those changes can be assessed. I enjoyed your presentations today.

English IV

Today in class we did a lot to focus on vocabulary as well as finish our study of "Showdown with Big Eva". I'll have your graphic organizers graded in just a bit. Next class we'll finish our test corrections and we'll also get started on our final project with A Doll's House. I'm hoping that we will finish this play and most of the unit before we leave for Thanksgiving break. Remember that if you didn't take the quiz on Act I, then you should see me to get that settled.

Wednesday, November 7, 2018

Homework for B Day Students - 7 November

AP Seminar

Now we've done the task that starts the rest of our work - our research question. For tonight's homework, you should be focused on writing your first draft research question and then explaining its connection to your chosen document. As you write your question, try to be as specific as you possibly can be. If you need to do more research, then do so! I'd much rather read question 1.5 than 1.0. Remember that this is your process and your QUEST.

We'll be in the library all class on Friday developing our questions and delving forward into source material.

Advanced Russian

Today we spent time in class reviewing exercises before going to the media center to work on our essay abstracts. I'll be checking them on Friday morning, so be sure that they're done. As you're working, avoid the temptation to use translators. You need to be sure that all of the work you show is yours and that you have full ownership of it.

For tonight we need to finish the exercise we began in class (Russian II) in the same way we did today. What's the tense and aspect? Why? Which verb are we going to use? Be sure to use the verb list on 202 and 203 to help you make your choices.

Russian III will be writing using the time expressions. Write about your day, use the four time expressions we reviewed today in class. Be sure to consider what you are saying and how you need to say it. Refer back to our exercise today as well as our notes.

Russian I

Today we had a solid day today reviewing all that we know about determining gender, agreeing with possessive words, and even tip-toeing into verb conjugation work. Tonight, I want you to continue this practice by looking at Exercise 1.4. You'll be focused on numbers one through eight. Look at how the verb has been conjugated, determine the type of verb it is, then use your notes to make the changes that you need to make. This is an exercise in just conjugating verbs. Be ready!

Be sure that you're also studying your vocabulary for Chapter One. You should be looking at your nouns and verbs in Chapter One.

Tuesday, November 6, 2018

Homework for A Day Students - 6 November - Election Day!

It's Election Day! Remember to remind people you know who are eligible to go and vote! The only way a democracy works is when we all contribute to its success and advancement! Outside of that, here are your other reminders for tonight.

AP English III

Some of you did not have annotations to be checked or vocabulary cards to submit. If this is the case you need to see me tomorrow with that in order for it to be scored. If you are missing the Act III/IV quiz then this should be settled this week as we are closing this unit and moving on to the next.

On that, be sure that you've secured your copy of Beloved by Toni Morrison. I would highly recommend ordering a copy of this book as it is very rich. If you need help with this, let me know. Additionally, as I said today in class, we'll be spending a lot of time talking about the experiences of African American women through this unit. Thus, it would be a good idea to do some research before Thursday. Look at the biographies of Toni Morrison and a few other African American women of your choosing. What do they all have in common?

Lastly, be ready for your presentation on Thursday. You will be expected to present your text, its comment on society, how that commentary is done, and if it is generally effective or not. Someone will also need to relate the argument for the team. Remember that your presentation will fall on Thursday, but the writing on the websites will not be assessed until the weekend - so you'll have time for final changes.

English IV

Today in class we finished reading "Showdown with Big Eva" and worked through the comprehension questions. We also reviewed a bit around the idea of irony as we discussed the story. Next class we'll finish our compare/contrast assignment between Laila and Nora before doing vocabulary. We'll also do a bit of work next class connected to our tests to do corrections. If you haven't taken the test yet, it's important that you do that before Thursday.

Monday, November 5, 2018

Homework for B-Day Classes - 5 November

I'm back everyone! Yay! Vacation was exactly what I needed to recharge going into Quarter 2. Here are your reminders about what to do moving into our class on Wednesday. First, remember to encourage people you know to vote! Democracy only works when we all participate. Other than that we have the following -

AP Seminar

Tonight you have an additional article which will give you another approach to the idea of protest; perhaps a different one than we've considered so far. Read and annotate the article "Why Violence Works" which is linked from the Unit Plan as well as here. As you read, consider the claims, evidences, and arguments presented. You might also want to consider its credibility. From here, consider how this article contributes to the larger conversation we're having around protest.

After this, take a look through your stimulus pack. You might want to start to consider the documents because you'll end up starting your QUEST by using one of these documents as an anchor. What issue is presented? What problem? Question?

Advanced Russian
