AP Seminar
And now it is that we begin our drafting process and move from planning and researching to writing and drafting. As we begin it's important that you continue to use your preliminary documents in a way that makes sense. Consider the different elements of the QUEST framework and how you're using all of these skills as you are working through your IWA.
On Thursday and Monday we'll be doing nothing but drafting. I think that looking at the rubric, the earlier sample papers, and the feedback that you've received will be very helpful here.
Also remember what I said in class - when we do the actual process you'll have a lot more time. This was a quick move through the process in order to familiarize ourselves with the process.
Advanced Russian
We are also in the drafting phase of our research papers or research posters - whichever level we find ourselves to be in. As you are going through the research paper, remember that I need a final copy with all elements pulled together by tomorrow - WEDNESDAY - at 4:00 PM. I need the final copy shared with me so that I can send it in.
For next class we will have our vocabulary quiz on time expressions. Remember that you need to know your various prepositions and vocabulary related to time like days of the week, months, adverbs related to time expressions (suddenly, long time, always, all the time).
We also did a bit of exercise work today in class. Be sure that you've completed these exercises both as a practice for the quiz as well as review of concepts.
Russian I
Keep in mind that the only way to improve in Russian is the practice and review. If you don't know how to do a practice or you don't know how to do a review, then we should talk. The sooner that you address the issue, the sooner it gets better. Remember that avoidance isn't actually doing anything.
Today in class we reviewed verb conjugation by looking at reflexive verbs as well as transitive verbs. We also looked at verbs which have a mutation like жить and писать. We did some conjugation practice which you can find in Google Classroom.
For next class you have two exercises for practice. First, read the text and find the verbs. Underline the verbs and circle the subjects. On the back, read the information after the verb and find the most logical verb to go in the blank. Then, conjugate. Remember that you have to complete six of the twelve conjugations.
