Homework for the Weekend - B Day - 4 October 2019

AP Literature

For those of you using Native Son as one of your sources for your outline, the end-text citation is as follows:

Native Son. By Nambi E. Kelley, directed by Colette Robert, 26 Sep. 2019, Playmakers Repertory Company, Chapel Hill. Performance.

Remember that your Oppression Outlines are due to Google Classroom by Sunday. You should submit online. If you are working in a group and submitting one outline for the group, be sure that it is clear who did what. These outlines will guide your final product due Friday. Remember that these products should communicate your argument but not rely on the written word to do so. Consider how organization, layering, and key details can help you here.

Other than that we'll have the second part of our assessment on Tuesday - the essay. You'll have approximately 55 minutes to complete your response. Please secure a copy of The Stranger as soon as possible. Remember that you want the one by Vintage International so that we have the same translator.

If you were absent from today's class be sure to go to AP Classroom and complete the Unit 1 MCQ.

AP Research

Today in class we had time to work before finishing the Manzanar paper and reviewing the essential elements of the academic paper. Be sure that you are using the instructions document as you are working and beginning to write.

Over the weekend there are several things to be working on. The first is your Annotated Bibliography. Be sure that you're using the templates as you write. Focus on the best sources that you've found. As you write, how will you be able to discover more that you may find. Remember that the Annotated Bibliography will set us up well for the Literature Review - an essential component of your paper.

I would also direct you to Google Classroom for the Reflection Questions. Please complete Reflection 5 this weekend. If you are missing earlier reflections, please complete those and send me a link when they are complete.
