AP Research
Today was our workday devoted to our first posters and our first pitches. We should also be working on the introduction outline which at this point is just the descriptors of what goes in the outline and then the purpose of these items. Completing this now will help you to complete the elements of your introduction and to find them in the work you're already completing.
Remember that we will present our posters and pitches on the 24th. This is the last grade of Quarter 1. Everything should be submitted by that point so that we can move forward. If you need additional time or help, please let me know.
Russian I
Today in class we reviewed the concepts of gender, possession, and simple sentences in Russian. Next week we'll retake that quiz, and show a lot of improvement on these skills. Tonight your homework is to keep practicing by writing about your house. Create a Google Document and put a photo of a room in your house in that document. Then write five sentences about the items in the room. Who owns what?
Advanced Russian
Today in class we had our unit assessment. If you didn't finish, time will be given next class to complete the work. Our next unit will be different based on the different levels. If you are in Russian II, please review Chapter 5 (pink book) and complete the Chapter Preview. Russian III and IV will use the Carolina Blue book and refer to Chapter 8 (III) and 11 (IV).
Please have your textbooks next class as we are starting new units!

Homework for A Day Students - 14 October
AP Research
Today's class focused on the first pitch and poster. Remember that we will present our posters and our pitches on the 24th and this will be the last grade of Q1. All other works should be submitted by that point.
If you haven't yet completed and submitted your AB to Google Classroom, please do so as soon as possible. It is my goal to return feedback to you on Friday and conference with each of you on your AB work. Help me to facilitate that process by submitting your documents as quickly as you can.
Our next major step is the outline and draft of the introduction - to follow the posters - and then the research proposal. The proposal will go through two steps - a draft and formal review by the district. I'll share the forms with you once they are approved by Dr. Spencer.
Russian I
Today in class we took a quiz on gender and vocabulary before finishing our film, Russia Revealed. I really like this film due to the fact that it shows that Russia is a very diverse land with not just a bunch of blue eyed, blond people.
Tonight for homework I want you to do a few things. First, complete the exercises to review gender and possession. This is good practice especially if you weren't too prepared for the quiz today. After that, you should work on the back. Look at the verbs. What can you tell about them? How do they work? What do they mean? These are examples of many of our verbs in this unit. So knowing these patterns will help a lot!

You should be able to work with verbs in all tenses (past, present, future) and be able to identify key information about them (tense, stem, form, infinitive, etc.). For the examination on Wednesday you will have a section that asks you to conjugate given some information about a verb. Then there will be a section much like today's in-class progress. Find and explain a variety of verbs.
Prepare by reviewing old quizzes, studying verb cards, and reviewing the appendix in your textbook starting at page A-25.

Homework for the Weekend - A Day Edition - 3 October
AP Research
In order to make life a bit easier I compiled the reflection questions into one document for you. Please check that document and be sure that you have Reflections 1-4 complete. If you missed an earlier check, send me an email with a link to the document and we will get that settled.
Be sure that you've submitted your Source Check Two to Google Classroom in the appropriate space. I'll be looking at these tonight.
Next class will be a working day - You'll be grinding through some Annotated Bibliography entries, so have those templates and access to those sources. The Annotated Bibliography is due by October 13 and is our key focus for this upcoming week.

Homework for A-Day Students: 1 October 2019
The end of Quarter 1 will happen this month! It's important to be prepared as we're moving ahead!
AP Research
Today we started to get a good idea of the final product, but we also saw a fair amount of the work in the beginning as well. This is great for us as we are moving forward into our work with the Annotated Bibliography since some of that writing will find its way in to your paper through the Literature Review.
For tonight there are a few things to accomplish.
Russian I
Today in class we did some singing and working on gender and the way that words like possession words change to show gender. This is the root of your homework tonight. I want you to use the notes we did today in class to work through the exercises 1.11 and 1.12 in the end of Chapter One. Fill in the blank with the appropriate word. Remember to identify the gender of the item (look at the last letter) as you do this work.
Remember, this is the last week for anything from Unit One as we're moving into Unit Two.
Advanced Russian
For homework tonight you should do a few things. First, check in with your grades on PowerSchool. If there is anything missing or that needs to be redone, you have this week to complete that work. Next week we will only be scoring and submitting the Unit Examination. Second, complete the exercises that I gave you on identifying cases. We'll be working through that next class. Lastly, spend some time writing and working. Write a few episodes talking about what happened in the episode we watched, what may happen in the future, and what we saw in the past. Remember, as I said in class, you're only doing half the work if you don't go home and practice, and half only gets you a 50%.
Next class we will have a small partner quiz on conjugation and stem identification. Be ready!

- Continue to work on and submit your final source list. Remember that this should be around 40-50 sources and it should reflect growth from the first source list.
- Write your annotated bibliography entries based on the template documents that we have seen and been using so far. Remember to focus on the sources that you find to be the strongest or most useful. Go back to the Literature Review to see how this will eventually be used.
- Be sure to look at and complete the most recent reflection. It's in our Google Classroom post for today.

Homework for B-Day Classes: 12 March (ACT Day)
Dear Juniors - I hope that you felt prepared and that you served the ACT what it wanted. I hope that the work we have done related to writing and critical reading helped you. Now, on to the announcements.
AP Seminar
In class today we had a significant workday geared toward our IWA outlines. By the time we leave for Spring Break (next Friday) you and I should have sat down for an IWA OUTLINE CONFERENCE. This conference will be a major grade. We'll discuss your outline including the question and answer, as well as the way in which you are using your source material to argue for a solution or resolution.
Beyond this, the only other assignment we'll have in Q3 is an elevator pitch. These will occur next week. Everyone will be expected to deliver a 1-2 minute elevator pitch in which you detail for your classmates:

Today was an enrichment day in Russian. We focused on writing and discussing the weather (Russian II) as well as our recipes and foods (Russian III). As we worked today in Russian III, there was a lot of discussion around related grammar topics like time expression, genitive counting rules, and the other related grammar needed to work through recipes.
Tonight, you should study and prepare for your quizzes on Thursday. The quizzes will focus on vocabulary as well as on uses of the dative case. Be prepared! Be sure that if you weren't in class today that you are prepared to move forward with your recipe projects or grammar skills.
Russian I
Today in class we spent about 80 minutes studying for our quiz on Thursday. By studying we were active. We matched dominoes to practice with the idea of agreement between words with gender and case. We also did some writing and translating about our houses - to write one of our paragraphs. Tonight, you should keep that going.
First, use the example/model paragraph and complete the work on writing about your house. These paragraphs are due on Thursday. While you take your quiz I'll grade your paragraphs and return them with notes about corrections. Final floor plan projects are due on Monday. This is the last project grade for Q3. If you see that you have other missing or low scoring assignments, you may want to see me with rubles to add extra points.

Homework for A Day Students - 6 November - Election Day!
It's Election Day! Remember to remind people you know who are eligible to go and vote! The only way a democracy works is when we all contribute to its success and advancement! Outside of that, here are your other reminders for tonight.
AP English III
Some of you did not have annotations to be checked or vocabulary cards to submit. If this is the case you need to see me tomorrow with that in order for it to be scored. If you are missing the Act III/IV quiz then this should be settled this week as we are closing this unit and moving on to the next.
On that, be sure that you've secured your copy of Beloved by Toni Morrison. I would highly recommend ordering a copy of this book as it is very rich. If you need help with this, let me know. Additionally, as I said today in class, we'll be spending a lot of time talking about the experiences of African American women through this unit. Thus, it would be a good idea to do some research before Thursday. Look at the biographies of Toni Morrison and a few other African American women of your choosing. What do they all have in common?
Lastly, be ready for your presentation on Thursday. You will be expected to present your text, its comment on society, how that commentary is done, and if it is generally effective or not. Someone will also need to relate the argument for the team. Remember that your presentation will fall on Thursday, but the writing on the websites will not be assessed until the weekend - so you'll have time for final changes.

Today in class we finished reading "Showdown with Big Eva" and worked through the comprehension questions. We also reviewed a bit around the idea of irony as we discussed the story. Next class we'll finish our compare/contrast assignment between Laila and Nora before doing vocabulary. We'll also do a bit of work next class connected to our tests to do corrections. If you haven't taken the test yet, it's important that you do that before Thursday.

Tonight you have an additional article which will give you another approach to the idea of protest; perhaps a different one than we've considered so far. Read and annotate the article "Why Violence Works" which is linked from the Unit Plan as well as here. As you read, consider the claims, evidences, and arguments presented. You might also want to consider its credibility. From here, consider how this article contributes to the larger conversation we're having around protest.
After this, take a look through your stimulus pack. You might want to start to consider the documents because you'll end up starting your QUEST by using one of these documents as an anchor. What issue is presented? What problem? Question?
Advanced Russian
Today in class we didn't get as far as I wanted, so there's a bit of a modification to the planned homework. Tonight you should all focus on finishing your abstract for your research paper. Hopefully you divided the parts of the abstract out and then have begun to write. Remember to have full ownership of your language as you write. When it is ready to be reviewed by me, let me know. I'll be checking them on Friday if you don't tell me to before that.
From here, look at your exercises for review of the concepts today. For Russian II, you'll want to take a look at Exercise 5.7. Look at the clues in the sentence and think about if it's a situation that needs perfective or imperfective as well as the tense. You might also want to take a look at the types of verbal action as you look at this.
For Russian III, you've got Exercise 8.7. This will have you consider prepositions related to time expressions. You should use your notes that you took today as well as your textbook to help you work through this information.

Today in class we had a bit of a struggle related to behavior. We can consider this class the warning for everyone. If we continue to have problems then I will be to solve them, and you may not like my solution. Further, remember what I said in regards to studying and preparing. You need to be working regularly on this class in order to improve. If you're not, then there's a problem and it needs to be fixed. If you don't know how to study, then seek out assistance. It's important to make everything start to click now before things get out of your control.
For tonight, I want you to focus on Exercise 1.5 and 1.4. You should be actively using your vocabulary list and your notes in order to do this work. You may not be able to fill in all of the blanks, but I expect a good effort. I think that 1.5 is the more important of the two and the one that you should be able to complete the most of.

Homework for the Weekend - B Day - 26 October

From all the work we've done this week I'm excited to see what you all are going to present on Tuesday. Remember to submit your slides by Monday evening to Google Classroom - they'll be marked late after 6:00 PM. Be sure that you are continuing to collaborate and offer assistance this weekend as you make finishing touches to your presentations.
Advanced Russian
Today in class we spent our time looking at our aspectual pairs as well as some of our new vocabulary and grammar through conversation. I was very happy about the work that you all did and the level of engagement in the room. I also noted that many of you found yourselves to be much more comfortable doing this type of work.
As we move forward to Tuesday, continue to work on your research outline as well as your quiz preparation. The quiz will focus on vocabulary as well as grammar for all of you. Be ready by studying your topics. Remember that you can have a notecard for this quiz, but it has to be made by hand. Topics for your quiz are in the slides on Google Classroom.

Homework for B-Day Classes: 22 October 2018
AP Seminar
This week we will be moving toward our TMPOD, so all work outside of class should be devoted toward that goal. Hopefully by this point your group knows your question or problem and the answer or solution that you are trying to sell. Now it's time to sell it.
Be sure that you are relating back to the research that you have already done. As I said today in class, many of you have looked at what's been done already - perhaps the best way to move forward is to discuss that as you begin to propose your own idea.
Next class and Friday we'll be working on these through class. Be sure that you've shared your Annotated Bibliography and highlighted where your teammates should focus on Wednesday and Friday. Also remember that you have all of your Oral Defense questions - it would be a good idea to begin to prepare those now.
Presentations will be done and scored on Tuesday. Then, Tuesday afternoon, I'll submit your final grades for this process. Remember that the TMPOD is the other half of the grade with the AB.
Advanced Russian
Today's class was a good one, though some of you should invest in more sleep or more coffee (or both) before coming to class. We are now working on a split unit - Russian II is focused on Unit 5 and Russian III is focused on Unit 8. Be aware of this as we move on.
Tonight, Russian II's are focused on showing they know the difference between perfective and imperfective aspect. Write about your day in English - use about 10 sentences. Then, go through and identify the verbs. Would the verb be done in perfective or imperfective if translating to Russian? Why? Consider the discussion today and the notes we took.
Russian III students are focused on learning declensions for new vocabulary. Your exercises are 8.6 and 8.19. Be sure to fill in the blank, check for agreement, and to translate what you have.
As well, you should all be developing your team outline - IN ENGLISH. We'll hopefully have some time devoted to this later in the week.
Russian I
Today in class we went full force into Unit 1 by learning the different words to talk about ownership. There are two ways that we can do this in Russian that you know right now. One is through the preposition У and the other is by using a possessive pronoun. Remember that the possessive pronoun agrees with the item owned, and not the owner.
Use the slides in Google Classroom if your notes are lacking. Remember that you also have all week to resubmit your alphabet examination if you need to. Tonight, there are a few things for you to do. First, keep studying your vocabulary words for Unit 1 in advance of our spelling quiz next week. Second, complete the exercises on page 56 - number 11 and 12. Read the sentence and fill in the blank using the words that we have learned today.

Presentations will be done and scored on Tuesday. Then, Tuesday afternoon, I'll submit your final grades for this process. Remember that the TMPOD is the other half of the grade with the AB.
Advanced Russian
Today's class was a good one, though some of you should invest in more sleep or more coffee (or both) before coming to class. We are now working on a split unit - Russian II is focused on Unit 5 and Russian III is focused on Unit 8. Be aware of this as we move on.
Tonight, Russian II's are focused on showing they know the difference between perfective and imperfective aspect. Write about your day in English - use about 10 sentences. Then, go through and identify the verbs. Would the verb be done in perfective or imperfective if translating to Russian? Why? Consider the discussion today and the notes we took.
Russian III students are focused on learning declensions for new vocabulary. Your exercises are 8.6 and 8.19. Be sure to fill in the blank, check for agreement, and to translate what you have.
As well, you should all be developing your team outline - IN ENGLISH. We'll hopefully have some time devoted to this later in the week.
Russian I
Today in class we went full force into Unit 1 by learning the different words to talk about ownership. There are two ways that we can do this in Russian that you know right now. One is through the preposition У and the other is by using a possessive pronoun. Remember that the possessive pronoun agrees with the item owned, and not the owner.
Use the slides in Google Classroom if your notes are lacking. Remember that you also have all week to resubmit your alphabet examination if you need to. Tonight, there are a few things for you to do. First, keep studying your vocabulary words for Unit 1 in advance of our spelling quiz next week. Second, complete the exercises on page 56 - number 11 and 12. Read the sentence and fill in the blank using the words that we have learned today.

Homework for A Day Students - 9 October 2018
English IV
Today we all submitted rough drafts of our "This I Believe" Essays. Some of you were even able to work together in some small groups to edit and receive feedback on your essays before I collected them. Next week you'll get your drafts back and we'll move forward to presenting our essays and getting our final drafts together.
In the second part of class we began reading A Doll's House to connect to our research from last class and to kick off our new unit. As we are reading the play, make connections to the world around us and to your own lives - Do you think that things are fair between women and men? Why or why not?
For tonight's homework, engage in some interviewing. Talk to at least three different people and ask them what they think are the rules for men or women in relationships. Record their ideas. Next class we'll have a bit of a debate around these ideas before reading more of the play.

Today you all did your first timed writing! Hooray! You'll get these back on Monday next week with your essays so that we can compare and contrast skills between the full length process essay and the quicker timed writing argument. Looking at both gives us a good idea of where our writing skills are.
Tonight you should put in some time moving forward on your work for The Crucible, One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich, and your group projects.

- Be sure that you've thoroughly read and annotated Act II. We'll be discussing it on Thursday. We've looked at a lot of texts related to women and their roles in Puritan society. You will find it helpful to consider these texts as you look at Elizabeth Proctor.
- You should have determined your personal focus text for your group project by now. You should be annotating and analyzing with an eye toward social commentary. What is the comment that text is making about society? Which part of society? How is the commentary communicated?
- In terms of One Day, you should be at the worksite. We'll be discussing up to page 49/50 in the purple books on Wednesday's class next week. Again, keep an eye toward social commentary and don't forget all the work we did last week with Soviet Society.
The last day to turn in permission slips is Thursday. I must turn them in for audit, so Thursday really is the last day!

Yesterday, we started class with less focus than ideal, but we turned it around and you all came up with some pretty fantastic group presentations. I was really thrilled with how creative and funny you were with your interpretations of Twelfth Night. Tomorrow, let's make sure we're on-task and with it from the jump, we have lots of work to complete. Looking forward to seeing everybody, Friday should be a blast!

Yesterday, we did some pretty in-depth analysis of The Great Gatsby Chapter 6. We thought a lot about the importance of identity, especially as it relates to the Jay Gatsby/James Gatz question. We also had a thought-provoking conversation about how we can think about the Gatsby dilemma in comparison to gender identity and expression in the modern United States. For class tomorrow, please read and thoroughly annotate Chapter 7, with a couple questions in mind:

Homework for the Long Weekend - Russian Classes - 8 November 2017
We all had quizzes today! If you felt unprepared on a section make sure that you study so that you can complete your reassessment on that section after I return them to you. Here's what you should complete over the weekend:
Russian II: Complete the final drafts of your aspect sentences. Make sure that you are increasing your sentence complexity by adding in adverbs that relate to the aspect (this will help you study the new vocabulary) as well as prepositional phrases (with the list of prepositions I gave you earlier). By applying and using the words I give you, then you will better learn them.
Russian III: Your goal this weekend is to share a document between yourselves and me in which you start drafting your paper's abstract. The abstract should review the argument of the paper as well as the source material that will be used to prove the point of the paper. This can be done in English and in Russian. Use Russian where you can and use English where you need to.
In another shared document you should put together your outline. In the outline you should include your argument and the topics that you will explore to prove your argument is valid. In the topics you should include information from your source materials as well as your commentary. Again, this can be done in a mixture of English and Russian.
Please be sure to share these documents with me as I will help with corrections, translations, and formatting for the APA style requirements. Your paper must be finished after Thanksgiving Break - so it is very important we finish these elements this weekend.

Homework for the Weekend - A Day - 20 October
Russian I
This weekend you should spend your time studying and reviewing your grammar notes around gender and possessive pronouns as well as your vocabulary - the Chapter One nouns. For the nouns focus on those that are very useful to everyday life (radio, mom, dad, brother, class, dictionary, etc.) don't worry so much about words you wouldn't use that often.
The quiz will be matching, fill in the blanks, translation, and free response.
Advanced Russian
II - Over the weekend read over pages 191-196 and take notes related to the different types of actions that are connected to imperfective and perfective aspect. This is a good follow-up on our work today in class. Once you have done this, move on to exercise two at the end of the chapter and analyze the underlined verbs for their aspect. Try to explain why that aspect is used with that particular situation.
III - Your work this weekend is related to your research project. This weekend you will find on Google Classroom a document which you should work through to refine and determine your research question. Please work on this collaboratively. You should each find fifteen new words that would be helpful when working on your topic. Create a separate document with these words. On Tuesday we will meet as a group and go through the work that you have done. Your topic is due to the competition next week - so it is important that you finish this work this weekend.

Over the weekend you should revise your resume on Google Classroom, review your notes and packets that we have done with The Canterbury Tales and determine what you will apply for in the outside word (college, military, job) so that as we develop our final writing assignments we can direct them toward a specific purpose.

I think that we did a great job reviewing on our rules around masculine, feminine, and neuter gender and then seeing how these ideas connect to the idea of possession and possessive words like my, your, and our. Tonight, practice with these concepts to reinforce the learning in class.
Complete exercise 11 and 12 at the end of Chapter One. For exercise 11, use your notes or the information in your textbook - you can find the chart we made in there too - and fill in the blanks. Make sure to look for and consider gender. In exercise 12 you'll be doing the same thing, but adding in a translating and writing step. If the words are in English, translate to Russian and then write a question and answer like the example. If it's already in Russian, just write a question and answer.

Today we started moving into our new units! Yay! Russian II has a very interesting journey ahead as you start to move into aspect. You all should be focused on the new vocabulary that we used at the end of class today. Look at your verbs in the beginning of the chapter. Use them and learn them. Apply what you have learned about stems to the work you are now doing!
Russian II - You will find it helpful to locate the list of all aspectual verb pairs in Chapter Five. This is within the chapter. With it, you should analyze the poem in exercise one. Do you see an imperfective (one you already know) or perfective (new information) verb? What's the tense? What do you understand about the poem. This is exercise one at the end of Chapter 5.
Russian III - You will begin by looking at the first exercise too. This is a list of questions. Using your vocabulary list answer ten of these questions about yourself. Activate what you know. Analyze the question to think about the case you'll need in your answer.
Both groups should also review the reading at the beginning of the chapter. Mark unknown words and grammar structures. Try to summarize each paragraph, in English.
English IV
Next week is going to be a heavy week in terms of finishing our unit on The Canterbury Tales and personal writing. Make sure that if you want to revise your essay that you have done that. Way to go to those of you who already have. If you've made changes in Google Docs, please let us know via email. Also, we'll have the resume and the personal character project to finish. Make sure that you have done some work related to these two items (our planning sheet for the resume and graphic organizer for the characters).

If you have a zero on your progress report this indicates that you are missing an assignment. Please get the assignment in to me ASAP so that I can update your grades. Remember that in about a week we'll be having our alphabet test which will cover the alphabet, our cognates, greetings and farewells, formality, and gender.
To practice with gender, complete the worksheet I gave you today in class. Look carefully at the final letter of the word and determine its gender.
Also, continue to work through your exercises in which you are practicing your greetings and farewells.

Over the weekend I want you to take the work we were doing to discuss Battleship Potemkin and spend some time writing. Write a brief paragraph about some aspect of the film. Try to use vocabulary that you can control. Don't worry about speaking in a complex way - focus on communicating your thoughts and ideas.

Homework for B-Day Students: 6 March 2017

If you still have work to do on Google Classroom it is important that you get that worked settled and submitted ASAP. There are two assignments there, which you may need to work on. One is the Latin American literature project where you are either doing creative writing or doing research on one of the various countries of Latin America. The second assignment is the more recent one on the Greek gods/goddesses/creatures. All of the instructions and assignments are in Google Classroom.
AP English III
For our next class - Wednesday - you only have to read and annotate the article which was given to you today on transgender people and queer politics. Read carefully. Remember that this was assigned to graduate students at Duke University - things will go over your head and the language will be dense - do what you can. Use the ideas of necropolitics to get you started as you deal with the text. It's also important to consider the way in which racial politics of the 1950's are similar to gender politics of today.
Additionally, for Friday, we have the reading of Chapters Eleven and Twelve as well as the submission of your source packs. The source pack instructions and template documents are on Google Classroom for you to use. Remember that this is a relatively easy assignment - you simply need to consolidate your sources and write your question. Follow the instructions. Ask for help if you need it. We will quickly move forward into rough drafts and writing conferences. It would be a good idea to start drafting your paper now. Rough drafts will likely be collected at the end of next week!

Today since we had our quiz on Russian literature we have no official homework to complete. However, I have given you your final project for our Russian literature unit, and it would be a good idea to start working on your project tonight. Next class we'll spend some time in the library working on these projects - make sure that the time in the library is useful by starting tonight. Remember you have to select one of the four projects to complete. Consider what you think will give you your strongest work. Your projects are due on October 8th.
Russian I
Tonight for homework I want you to complete the reinforcement exercises from my Russian grammar textbook. You're completing exercises 51, 52, 53, and 54. For most of these you need to review your notes on gender and possessive pronouns. Remember to select the appropriate pronoun based on the gender of the item. We'll continue working on this and phonetics for Friday's class.
Make sure that with the homework that you write out all of your answers and sentences. Don't just fill in the blank or write the word - writing the whole sentence will help you with your handwriting and your grammar knowledge.

Tonight you'll continue working on questions and answers as you work through exercise one in chapter four. There are fifteen questions there. I want you to select ten and then complete the example where you give answers to the questions. Make sure that you follow the model. Use this as a chance to check in with verbs and to practice your knowledge of the one-stem verb system in Russian. This is also a good chance for you to review your intonation patterns as we'll be doing some speaking related to questions and answers next class.

Make sure that with the homework that you write out all of your answers and sentences. Don't just fill in the blank or write the word - writing the whole sentence will help you with your handwriting and your grammar knowledge.
Russian II/III
Tonight you'll continue working on questions and answers as you work through exercise one in chapter four. There are fifteen questions there. I want you to select ten and then complete the example where you give answers to the questions. Make sure that you follow the model. Use this as a chance to check in with verbs and to practice your knowledge of the one-stem verb system in Russian. This is also a good chance for you to review your intonation patterns as we'll be doing some speaking related to questions and answers next class.

Russian II/III
This weekend you are making verb cards from chapters one through three. For your verb cards I am looking for a few things - here's your list:

- the verb in its infinitive form with the translation into English
- the stem of the verb
- the structural transcription of the verb
- the present and past tense conjugation (use structural transcription if you need to)
- case governance of the verb
- Russian III ONLY - Aspectual pair of the verb.
You should focus on commonly used verbs - don't look at vague verbs, try to look at ones you actually use.
Russian I
You have your list of words to analyze for gender this weekend. Remember to practice your handwriting, your reading, and to identify the gender, the hardness or softness of the ending, and the pronoun (he/she/it) you would use to discuss the item.
English II
On Monday you'll be having a big quiz on "The Overcoat" - sections one through five. Here is a link to the online version of the text if you want to look at the whole thing. Here's how you should prepare for your quiz this weekend:
- Reread the whole story from beginning to end - we read it over several classes. This will help you to keep everything in order.
- Review your notes - pay attention to notes on the characters, the situation/plot, the conflict, and the main symbol.
- Prepare any questions about things you don't understand.
- Know any and all vocabulary from the story.
This will be a large quiz on Monday and will greatly affect your grades. Make sure that you are prepared.
